Toxicity {Dusk & Hoss} Empty Toxicity {Dusk & Hoss}

"Is your girl going to be there?"

"First of all she's not MY girl. I just got her name through channels, Harv."

"What'd I tell you about calling me that?"

"Oh, didn't realize you meant all and any incarnations of your name, Hoss."

"I know you're being smart and using Hoss the way it's supposed to old man. Don't get smart with me okay? This is serious business."

"Yeah, poisons and shit right? Toxins."

"Not just toxins, the knowledge about them. I specifically was looking for somebody who knew stuff about them."

"Calm your shit dude, just go to the meet up point."

Hoss ended the call having gotten tired of talking to his contact. The old man had been able to find him jobs from time to time but he didn't seem to take Hoss seriously anymore. It could have been the number of times he called him in desperate need of work to where he was begging to clean up shit off the streets if it meant eating that day but when it came right down to it he had been looking for more than just toxins.

He kept his credits tightly to his side, stored in his messenger bag. Most of them had been replicated a few minutes ago, causing his phone call to be delayed while he whistled himself out, but he figured that he had enough time to do an exchange and get out before the pay would suddenly become significantly less.

He entered the cafe, he had given his hat as a descriptor of who he was, along with his snakebite piercings. He sat at a table alone facing the entrance. Once the girl arrived, she would easily be able to pick out his hat from the rest of the cafe.

Kyna stopped outside the café a second and glanced in. There were several people in it, but she could already see the man she was supposed to meet; he was seated so he faced the entrance, and the hat and piercings he had matched the description she’d been given.

The brunette opened the door and made her way into the café. Before joining her client, she bought a strawberry smoothie at the counter; she had a bit of a sweet tooth.

“Hoss, correct?” Kyna asked as she took the seat opposite him, “You can call me Dusk.” When working with fairly honest civilians, she didn’t mind giving out her name. When working with shadier individuals – be them gang related or not -, she always introduced herself as ‘Dusk’.

As she sipped on her drink, she noticed that Hoss was several inches taller then she was – at least five, probably more like six or seven – and he kept a strong grip on the strap of his messenger bag. Probably has credits or something else of value in it that he’s worried about, Kyna noted.

His red eyes also gave away he was a harbinger, though she’d known that before ever seeing him. What she hadn’t been able to find was exactly what he could do, though based on the stories she’d heard of the male pulling things over on people, she had a couple theories as to what it might be.

“So,” the blue-eyed informant set her smoothie down, “You want information on poisons and toxins, and well as some to use, right?” She asked. “What did you want to know?”

"Hoss, Correct?" He nodded as she took her seat, "You can call me Dusk."

She had a curious name and even curiouser eyes. They were a possible shade for normal eyes but rare enough that it had him wondering. He decided it wasn't important though, at least it shouldn't be for the purposes of this meeting. He just needed some info, possibly some supply, and then he would be done here. He listened to her as she spoke, noting her appearance. There wasn't much he could judge about her based on that so he decided to stick to what he was here for.

"Specifically, I need to know how long it takes your stronger poisons and toxins to kill or paralyze someone, as well as if you have any that will take effect but not completely kill someone for at least longer than ten minutes." A simple request, but there was more he needed to know. For this question though it would tell him if he could get away with using normally lethal poisons on a mark he wanted alive, because after ten minutes whatever he created would disintegrate. The question itself however, applied to a number of scenarios outside of his ability such as interrogation before a target died. So it was safe to ask in that respect.

The other question he held back, the one that was more personal. That is to say, if she had means of counteracting these poisons or treating somebody who had taken in a mild dosage. Specifically, medication to help restore liver functions. It was a long shot but if he could get black market liver medication cheaper than through the hospital itself then he would be able to help his father.

Sure he drank himself into his issues, but maybe just maybe it'd help him. Somewhere Harvey knew that without a transplant he wasn't likely to help his father but he was reaching, stretching for some sort of miracle. Even after all these years some part of him still cared.

God I'm pathetic.

Crossing her arms, Kyna thought for a moment.

"Well..." she started, "The poison I tend to use most often kills in about three minutes at its strongest dosage. You can dilute that one a bit to cause it kill slower, or I have other ones that have delayed effects as well." She took a sip of her before continuing. "The toxins I use tend to be for causing pain and aren't deadly." the informant gave Hoss a smirk, "Sometimes the best way to get information is to trick your target into thinking their dying instead of actually poisoning them. Saves you from having a body on your hands as well~,"

Truth be told, Kyna hardly ever used poisons, though she knew a lot about them. She didn't kill unless she had no other choice, so she would often just use a tranquilizer, or a toxin that caused a lot of pain. She also occasionally used drugs that would cause hallucinations, but the situations those were needed in were few and far between.

The brunette leaned back in her chair. "So what plans do you have for my information and supplies?" she asked, "If I know - vaguely at the least - what you want them for, it'll help me pick the best matches for you."

Although she preferred to deal solely with information, Kyna had decent underground connections for most things, which let her at least find out from whom to get other poisons and such from. And of course antidotes.

"Was there anything else you wanted?" she asked before finishing off her smoothie..which was rather good, and tempted her to want to buy another one.
