Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Post by Shade on Wed Sep 05, 2012 2:36 am

Having Kier lower his head next to hers, his breath brushing her neck, did a great deal toward helping her calm down again. She had just shifted to try to get more comfortable when he pulled her arms away and stood. She blinked and frowned softly as she caught sight of his blush, so faint that had she been anyone else, it would have been easy to miss. She wondered why he was blushing though. Shouldn't she be the one who was red, considering her breakdown just now?

Rubbing the tears from her face and cheeks, Shade watched him nearly flee from the room. Had she scared him away after that? Glancing around the room, she bit her lip, not liking the feeling of unease and loneliness that came over her. And she was afraid to go back to sleep. What if she had another nightmare like that again?

Right then, only one thing to do.

Pushing back the covers, she climbed to her feet, biting back a cry of pain as she put weight on her leg. She could do this. It was just a little pain. She had felt worse. Forcing her legs steady, she limped out to the living room and over to the couch. She spent a couple of seconds looking down at him before lightly shaking his shoulder.

"Kier? Kier. I don't want to be alone. Come sleep with me, please."

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Kier heard soft, uneven footsteps padding in the distance. He was halfway into dreamland when a light shake nudged a bit of his conscious back out. Unfocused eyes lazily blinked open lazily, he saw a blur of white... t-shirt? He wasn't sure but reached anyway with his right arm to grab whomever was standing. Closing his eyes again, he encircled an obviously female waist and pulled her close enough to nuzzle into the cotton fabric.

"Mmm back so late, Lenah?" he mumbled, slurred by sleepiness, into her abdomen. "Y'know I might start taking this personally if you keep waking me up at all hours of the night." He was addressing his mentor, who was present now only occasionally in his dreams on days like today, where he had too much fun and excitment. It was very Lenah-like to come back and remind him who put him where he was now.

When 'Lenah' didn't retort with her her usual snarky comments, Kier opened his eyes and lifted them to her face. And suddenly, he was all awake, flailing back awkwardly. There had to have been something wrong if he was daydreaming, and actually dreaming, of two figures from his memories in on night. He wanted to kick himself. "Sorry, that... yeah, my bad." Rubbing his face to hide his blush- jesus that was twice already- he directed a question to Shade. "Did you need something?" His hand slid down to reveal his eyes, making eye contact with her metallic ones. He couldn't help but glance down at the loose fit t-shirt that was barely covering her panties.

Shade was about to try shaking him again but she saw that Kier's eyes were open a little and he was looking at her. Figuring that he might not have heard her, she opened her mouth to repeat herself and ended up squeaking instead as his arm went around her hips and tugged her closer. She froze in surprise when he pressed his face into her stomach, his nose only an inch or two above the waistband to her underwear.

She had no idea what to do. Even she knew that this wasn't normal, but that didn't mean she knew how to react. So, because of this, she just stood there as he said something she didn't quite catch in her shock. She... guessed it was nice, the way he was holding her, even if he likely thought she was someone else.

She was about to put one of her hands on his head when he looked up and apparently recognized her, practically throwing himself away from her. It was odd, this feeling of... hurt that coiled around her. It wasn't like he had actually done anything, so why did she feel that way?

"Sorry, that... yeah, my bad. Did you need something?"

Shade forced a weak smile on her face even as she felt herself sway a little. Obviously, she needed more rest before moving about any more than she had been. But, she had already come out here, and she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep if she was alone so she may as well ask anyway, no matter how self-conscious she was suddenly feeling as well.

Dropping her eyes to stare at her own bare feet, she didn't see where Kier's gaze had gone. And, as was typical when she started to fidget, she didn't notice when she began to toy with the shirt's hem. Opening her mouth again, she was actually able to speak this time. "Would you... would you sleep with me?"

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Post by Kier on Wed Sep 05, 2012 2:15 pm

Well that was swell, she looked like he kicked her puppy or something. Although with the way he pulled back, it wasn't surprising she took it the wrong way. Even Kier was a little taken aback by his out-of-character reaction. Sitting up, he was just about to apologize again when Shade's request to sleep with her made him pause.

He actually considered the thought a but before realizing that Shade probably didn't know the meaning of what she just said. There had to be a limit to her naivete... Then again she had asked him to take of her pants and slept naked on his bed. He didn't hide his amusement, letting out a small laugh.

Kier stood, usual sly smile returning. "Miss me already?" he asked, his hand slid over her fidgeting hands, untangling them from the shirt's hemline, and skimmed his fingers on the skin underneath. "Do you even know what you just asked me to do?" He was teasing, of course, partially to see how the brunette would respond. Another part was just him wanting to touch someone, even if it isn't Lenah. Not that she would've let him go very far for that matter.

Not giving Shade a chance to respond, he scooped her up again and deposited her on the couch. Using his arms for support on either sides of her head, Kier leaned over and dropped a series of small kisses down her neck, tugging the collar of the tee to go further.

And then he stopped and lifted his head back up, his breathe a little quicker than usual. Kier watched Shade's reaction, though not planning to go any further than that.

She frowned softly when he laughed at her. What was so funny about her being afraid of having another nightmare?

When he asked if she had missed him, she paused then nodded. "I don't want to be alone," she answered, watching as he caught her hands (which she admitted she should probably try to stop fidgeting so much) and blinking in surprise as he lightly stroked her thighs. What on earth was he doing?

Shade was going to respond to his second question with the obvious answer but was cut off as he lifted her into his arms again and set her on the couch in a quick enough move that she couldn't even react to it. And when he started to press his lips to her skin? She gasped softly, not expecting that in the least. By the third caress, she had turned her head a little and curved her neck so he could have better access, all without realizing why or consciously thinking of it, her eyes drifting closed.

And then he pulled away and just watched her.

Blinking her eyes open again, she stared up at him in return, eyes wide and lips parted, a light blush over her her cheeks and breathing to match his. She had no idea why he had done that, and she wasn't sure she cared. She just knew that there was this odd swooping, fluttery feeling in her stomach and she found it exhilarating and terrifying and addicting all at once. And she couldn't help but wonder how that would have felt if he had used his power.

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

The fact that Shade wasn't pushing him away, she was actually inviting him to continue, made Kier want to see how far he could push until the light bulb in her head lit up. Or not light up at all. Whatever the case, his curiosity would have to wait for when she wasn't sick, injured, and tired. But Shade was looking at him like she wanted more. That had Kier hesitating a little about stopping and going against his better judgment. There'll always be a next time.

"As sweet as you taste, I think it's time for you to get some shut-eye." He moved his arms under her and transported her into his bed, laying her down gently next to the wall so if she rolled, it wouldn't be off the edge. Complying to Shade's request, he lay down too. "Night~" There was still empty space left between them.

The mattress was a king- which, to this day, Kier never understood why Lenah needed such a huge bed to herself. He wasn't allowed on it with her either. Ticked him off at the time, being stuck to sleep on the couch when there was clearly enough room for the both of them. After she left, he had used the bed excessively just to spite her if she came back (although she never did). It would've been nice if she had opened up to him a little more, though. Not that it would've benefited her any to have the trust of a fifteen year old 'brat'. Bed. Lenah. And that was about the time Kier started getting unwanted thoughts.

Fuckitall. He flipped to his side so his back was to Shade. At least he should think about these things in his dreams. It'd be more realistic there. And he would miss her less during the dream.

Shade put her arms around Kier's neck when he lifted her, hiding a yawn of agreement. Now that he mentioned it, she was exhausted again, eyes starting to droop once more. She watched him suspiciously when he set her on the bed, wanting to make sure he wouldn't leave again, and smiled slightly when he climbed under the covers as well.

"Good night," she murmured, just loud enough for him to hear, even with the distance between them.

Frowning when he stayed at the edge, she wondered how that could be comfortable. Wouldn't he worry about falling off? And the entire arrangement wouldn't really help all that much since she still felt like she was alone. With a huff, she pushed closer to the middle of the bed and reached out to tug at Kier's arm, trying to pull him closer, or at least drop the hint that she wasn't going to bite or anything. Maybe he was worried she'd freak out again and her power might lash out at him?

" 'M not gonna hur' you," she mumbled, trying to reassure him. "My power's tapped out fer the nex' day 'r so..."

She tugged again and smiled when he moved this time. Pressing a light kiss to his mouth (that was something friends did, right?), she tucked herself under his arm and cuddled close against his side as she set her head on his heart and draped an arm over his chest.

This is much better, she thought as she fell asleep.

Kier had taken the edge to give Shade more room and flipped over so he didn't have to see her in anymore... provacative positions. They were nice, of course, but he really had to get some sleep. And with the whole Lenah images and old ideas resurfacing, he wasn't sure if an actual, lightly clothed female body in front of him would help his case any. Hence why he ignored the first tug, hoping she was just dreaming. It was likely considering her slurred speech. Wait she thought he was afraid of getting smashed into a wall? If that was actually true, Kier wouldn't even be sharing the same room, let alone bed with her right now.

But when Shade pulled the second time, he assumed she was awake, and shifted onto his back with his face turned to her. Only to have her gently press her lips to his before cuddling against his side and falling asleep.

Kier just stared at her. Why did she do that? A normal kiss good night, considering there current relationship, would be a peck on the cheek at most. You don't just. Kiss a guy on the mouth so light and cute like that on his bed. It was hard to tell if she lived a sheltered life before or she was just plain innocent. God, someone seriously needed to sit her down and teach her how to relationship properly.

He sighed. I'll deal with this tomorrow. And drifted to sleep, finally. Good thing was that 'Alice' was out of his dreams, and nightmares. Odd thing was, he dreamt about the day Lenah left instead.

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Post by Shade on Thu Sep 06, 2012 4:25 am

Shade slept deeply and peacefully this time, and didn't show any signs of moving much less waking until after 2 p.m.

This was unfortunate for Kier since she had sprawled over him, her injured leg resting over both of his and both arms wrapped around his chest tightly, leaving very little space between them. On the bright side, since she hadn't moved much, the shirt still lay at the same spot a couple of inches above her hips. The last time she had really moved was when the sun had started to shine in through the window that morning and all she did was bury her face against the side of Kier's neck, pulling herself closer.

Stirring shortly after two, Shade grumbled softly and rubbed her cheek against her warm and breathing pillow, not wanting to wake. Sighing softly, she rolled onto her back to stretch, the shirt riding up her stomach. Shifting, she forgot about her injury and started to roll onto her side to curl up again, but the dull throb she had been able to ignore flared up again.

Breath hitching, she bit her lip to suppress a cry of pain, both hands flying to grab at the source. Oh god that had hurt. And it was bright in here. Why the hell had the window been opened? And why hadn't she been warned so she could put her goggles or some sort of eye cover on?

Pushing onto her back again, she reached out to where the low table next to her twin bed should have been, but instead encountered more bed and the person laying in it. This startled her and she sat up suddenly, jerking away a little and clenching her eyes shut a little tighter now that she was facing the source of the sunlight.

"Kier?" she called, remembering most of what had happened last night while praying that it was him and not some random person she wouldn't be able to defend herself from.

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Post by Kier on Thu Sep 06, 2012 6:52 pm

Kier had woken up somewhere around 10 AM. Still drowsy from his dream, which hadn't been all that pleasant, he moved to stretch. The morning light was peeking through the half opened blinds, the light coming through the cracks in rays. He didn't feel Shade until she squeezed him tighter when he tried to get up. Somehow the brunette had her injured leg thrown over his.

"Shade," he whispered, lightly tapping her cheek. He was. Going to draw the blinds closed and make some breakfast, as simple as it would've been, but that was impossible with the way she was all over him. Funny how ironic that was. When she didn't wake after the fifth tap, Kier gave up and went back to sleep.

About four hours later, Shade's thump over him nudged him awake again. He groaned at the sun's glare, throwing an arm over his eyes. Now that he'd slept for this long, it made it harder to actually wake up. Might as well keep sleeping.

"Kier?"

He sat up abruptly at the sound of his name, his vision splotching a bit as the blood rushed back to his head too quickly. Who the hell was in hi- oh. The surprise vanished at the sight of Shade shielding her eyes from the light. The light, right.

"Morning." He rolled off the bed and drew the blinds closed, the only light left spilled from the sides. "Sorry I haven't had a person sleep in my bed since," he paused. "Let's just say it's been a while, haha." It wasn't too bad having another person around- if he was used to it.

"You want to take a shower while I make breakfast?" Her clothes should be dry by now.

Even with the blinds closed, it was still too bright for Shade to open her eyes for long. Between the vice squeezing her head due to the light, the deep throbbing pain in her leg, and the fact she hadn't eaten in nearly 24 hours, she was starting to feel nauseous again. At least the fever had broken sometime while they had been sleeping. "Where are my goggles?" She couldn't remember taking them off. Had Kier done that for her? And what all had happened last night?

Feeling the strap get pressed into her hand, she flashed a thankful smile toward where she thought Kier was standing. Once she had her goggles on again and could actually look up at him again, she remembered what he had done and blushed. She was somewhat happy that the lenses were so dark so he couldn't see how her gaze flickered down to his lips and lingered there as he spoke. Her tongue darted out to wet her lips before she answered. "Sure, sounds like a plan."

She carefully slid to the edge of the bed, trying to pretend she wasn't hyper aware of where Kier stood. The stitches should hold up fine under the water, she'd just have to be careful to not put them directly under the stream since there was no way she would give herself a sponge bath - even if Kier would be more than happy to help. And the bandages could do with being changed too.

Kier stood by the bed to made sure Shade could get up properly. He didn't miss the quick lick of her lips when she put her goggles back on. It reminded him that he'd have to tell her how to properly kiss a person. Wait, what. No no, he meant to teach her why she shouldn't kiss a person like that. He'd probably sound like a hyprocrite considering all thise kisses he dropped on her last night. Fuckthatsoundedawkward.

That aside, he turned back to Shade, who was standing almost normally. "You want to borrow my clothes or are you going to wear yours? Cuz I couldn't get all the blood off. ...There's always... female clothes around too if you want those instead." He didn't elaborate on where those clothes came from exactly or why he had them. Minor detail.

"And," he started slowly, "There are a couple bras and panties too..." He assumed she'd need a new pair of at least the panties. Although, remembering the ones in the other drawer brought back more unwanted flashbacks. Why did Shade bring up so many memories of the woman he didn't want to think about most? But Kier put up his usual grin, masking those thoughts and feelings.

"Well, you can think about it while you shower. Just gimme a call if you want to borrow." He turned and headed to the kitchen, wondering if there was even decent food to cook. "Enjoy your bath~"

Shade stood carefully and made sure to rest her weight on her uninjured right leg. Listening to him talk, she absently wondered if it would be odd for her to ask him to kiss her again. That had felt really nice and she wanted to figure out what that fluttering in her stomach had been.

Yeah, no. Not putting on bloody clothes again, mostly clean or not. She'd have to soak those when she got home to get all the blood out. And that reminded her that she needed to find her phone and text the guys so they knew she was okay. In her defense, she wasn't exactly thinking clearly last night.

When he walked from the room, she blinked in surprise and ran over what he said again. Oh. She remembered him passing some of those women's clothing to Asche the last time she was here. Oh well, his were comfortable enough. And she didn't much care for the thought of wearing someone else's underwear. It was why she always made sure those particular garments were bought new even though just about all of the rest of her clothes were second hand.

Shrugging since she didn't really care, she limped over to his dresser and opened the same drawer he had when she had needed the second set of clothes because of that stupid faucet (and had he fixed that yet?). Fishing out clean sweats and a t-shirt, she made her way to the bathroom, closing the door behind her but not bothering to lock it or turn on the light. She didn't see the point when Kier knew she was going to be in here and she wasn't about to shower with her goggles on.

After sending off a quick text, she set her phone and goggles on the sink's edge next to the first aid kit. Showering went off without a hitch, though getting back out of the shower was where the problem lay...

Since the pain had faded to an ignorable level, Shade managed to forget that she was injured and put her weight on her left leg. She cried out in pain and crumpled, hitting the tile floor with a harsh thud and accidentally knocking the kit off the counter. Pushing herself up again, she stayed sat on the floor but leaned against the tub and peered down at her leg, shoving her still dripping hair from her face so she could check on the stitches.

It went without saying that his cooking needed some work. That's what Kier was thinking, staring at the slightly burnt toast. He'd found some bread and jelly but there was no toaster. The pan was harder to use than he thought. He normally didn't eat breakfast, but he seriously hadn't cooked in a long while. Buying bentos from the convenience store was good enough.

He trashed that one and before he could try again, there was crash from the bathroom. More specifically it was a thump, and a clatter. It didn't sound good either way. "Shade? You okay over there?" he called out, already setting down the pan.

When Shade didn't call back, he sped walked to the bathroom, hoping the case wasn't that she slipped on the tile floor and got a concussion. He was starting to think that maybe he should've helped her, or at least been on standby at the door.

Pushing open the door to the unlit room, he saw her sitting against the tub, examining her stitches. "Did they come apart?" he asked, kneeling beside her, concern edging his voice. At the moment he was more worried about Shade's leg than her complete nakedness.

Well, whatever Kier might think about his cooking, it was better than Shade's. There's a reason she's a pseudo-vegetarian after all. And why there were three fire extinguishers at home, even if they hadn't been used in a couple of years.

Shade hadn't heard him call out from the kitchen, too busy swearing under her breath. Well, at least they had held, but she definitely needed some painkillers now. And she didn't think she could stand again without some help. Which she really didn't want to ask for because she had imposed on Kier enough already. Plus, she was naked. That would just be all kinds of awkward.

When the door was pushed open, she couldn't help flinching in surprise and squinting her eyes half-closed. Yeah, there wasn't any direct light, but there was enough to start being uncomfortable. And then Kier was right next to her and she was painfully aware of her current state. Ducking her head, she looked down at her stitches again and hoped that the wet strands of hair that had fallen over her face hid her blush. That odd fluttery feeling was back.

"They're fine," she responded, voice tight. Not only was she trying to ignore his proximity and the heat coming from him, but she was also frustrated that she needed help. She huffed and smacked the tub. "Dammit."

"You sure?" He leaned closer to make sure that the rows of thread were still intact, then blowing a breath out in relief. Each stitch was still neatly in place. Shade, who was also inspecting the stitches, had her face hidden behind her hair so he couldn't tell if she was in that much pain or not. Although he expected a fall on tile flooring wouldn't be very pleasant.

Kier pulled a white towel off the rack and tossed it to Shade before standing to pick up the spilled contents of the first-aid kit. At least everything was packaged, so he wouldn't have to worry about buying a new one. With the kit back in order he placed it next to the pile of clothes, which he recognized as his own. Looks like she passed on the undergarments. He turned back to Shade just as she hit the tub with her hand, a dull sound echoing in the room. He prepared to give her a hand but froze with his hand half extended.

"Crap, I forgot to put on my gloves." Even now, his mutation got a wasn't completely under his control if he didn't focus. And with her as she was, he didn't want to accidentally shock her. "Okay, excuse me while i pick you up," he said, taking the other towel and carefully wrapping it over the parts he was going to touch. "Try to stay in the towel in case I can't control myself."

With one arm around her waist he lifted her to a stand, not realizing how misleading what he just said was. He wasn't going to do anything in any case. Using his free hand, he reached over and handed her the clothes.

Her breath caught in a soft gasp when Kier leaned closer to the stitches, his own breath brushing over her skin. Forgetting that few people could see as well as she could in dim lighting, she just wondered if he really had to be that close. She fully expected him to press his lips to her leg, which was rather valid considering the number of times he had kissed her since they had first met and how familiarly he kept touching her.

Shade blinked at the towel he tossed her. There wasn't much point in trying to wrap herself while still on the floor, so, like the stubborn teenager she was, Shade tried to pull herself up. Biting her lip to cover a grimace of pain as the muscles seized, she relaxed again, not happy that she was going to need help. Finding that the light was starting to give her headache, she closed her eyes again and started to towel dry her hair - at the very least, she could get her goggles on again.

She was about to start drying her leg so she could bandage the wound when something moved toward her from the corner of her eye. Flinching in surprise, she looked up at Kier as he wrapped another towel around her and pulled her to her feet while saying something about controlling himself. Well, wasn't that a laugh and a half?

Shade gave him a flat look then raised an eyebrow as she accepted the clothes. "Can't control yourself? I think you've already shown that you can't do that," she said, voice dry as she referred mostly to what he had said after kissing her on the train, though how he had been when only half-awake on the couch was also in a corner of her mind.

As soon as the words left her mouth, she winced and hunched in on herself, wishing she could take them back and hugging the bundle of fabric in her arms to her chest defensively. "I'm sorry! I didn't... I shouldn't have said that. I'm just..." She sighed. "I don't have any excuse. No matter how I feel, it's no reason to take it out on you, especially when you've been so nice and helping me when you don't have to. I should be thanking you, not bitching. I'll find some way to make this all up to you." She just waited for him to react, fully expecting to be thrown from the apartment for lashing out at him like that.

"Can't control yourself? I think you've already shown that you can't do that."

Kier shot her a confused look with a hint of annoyance, assuming she was referring to the tiny jolt he gave her on the train last night. That had been controlled. All things considered, he could've short-circuited her brain right then and there. If he could do that at seven, he sure as hell could do it now.

"You know" he began, shifting the hand on her waist so he could tug her closer. Then pointing a bare finger arbitrarily close to her forehead- his hand mimed as if holding a gun. The carefree smiles people were so accustomed to seeing was gone, replaced by an unfamiliar dark look. He hadn't let down the mask for while now, although most people didn't push all the wrong buttons, purposely or not. "I don't think you're in a position to be complaining. I could easily stop your brain. Just. Like. That." Pulling the 'trigger' at the last word to emphasize his point.

And that was when Shade cringed and started blurting out apologies. The shadow on his face dissolved. Kier blinked as she continued to talk, saying things like having to paying him back. For what? Helping out a- well he wouldn't say friend- comrade? He was already paying her back for flinging a potential threat in her face. Hr laughed. Seems like they were on different wavelengths.

"Don't worry about it. And hey, don't look like that. It's not like I'm going to toss you out or anything."

When he tugged her closer, her hand not holding the clothes reflexively reached out and pressed against his chest, a couple of her fingertips landing on bared skin.

Shade bit her lip after her babbled apology, his threat sinking in. Why hadn't it occurred to her that he might be able to do worse? Because he hadn't been anything other than nice to her, if a bit tactile.

The threat of electrocution combined with the sight of the scars on her arm and just reminded her of how much that had hurt. It wasn't an experience she ever wanted to repeat. Add to that Kier's dark look, so similar to the one her uncle had always aimed at her, one that she had never recognized for what it was, and the laugh which just seemed to echo her uncle's amusement and the mostly ignored fear from the fight yesterday... All those things just swirled together in her mind and started to pull her into the past.

She barely caught his comment about not throwing her out through that. "You probably should," she murmured, voice distant, before the memory swept over her and she sagged against him, unable to resist the flashback anymore.

There was a look of terror that had settled on Shade's face, as if she were recalling unpleasant memories. It was a look he knew well, and had worn several times in the past couple of hours. He supposed the trigger was his unnecessary threat earlier and those strange marks across her arms. They'd been there last time too, but judging by her reaction just now, the topic was as troublesome as his own past.

"I was joking, joking! I won't kick you out." Because he wasn't that much of a jerk that he'd throw out an injured, unclothed girl into the streets. Okay, first order of business, she needed to get dressed. Her fever had broken while she slept, which was good, but she'd get sick again if she kept standing there naked. He took the shirt from her grip and did his best to pull it over her head with one hand and avoid any skin-to-skin contact. "Okay, just pull up the sweats and then we can eat. The toast was a bit burnt but I think it's just cuz I forgot the butter. What jam do you want? There's strawberry and apricot. Oh and butter too if you don't like fruit. Sorry I don't have more fancy things to eat. Breakfast isn't really a regular thing for me."

Kier kept his tone light, all traces of the previous mood were safely pushed back behind his smile. With Shade's pants on, he supported her to the dining table and headed to the kitchen.

Shade dropped her forehead to rest on Kier's chest as she tried to regain her composure. She could remember very clearly when her uncle had decided to see how electricity would affect her mutation and how long she would be able to concentrate through it, which wasn't very long considering she had been ten at the time. It hadn't been too bad at first, certainly less pleasant than Kier's kiss had been, but it had quickly grown painful and she hadn't been able to do anything about it tied down as she had been. It was how she had received the smaller scars on her body (as well as the ones that looked like track marks) - burns from the needles used to introduce the current directly into her muscles. The round ones had occurred from the repetitive application and removal of medical electrodes.

She lifted her head again when Kier tugged the clothes away from her chest and couldn't help the light growl that escaped her when he managed to tug the shirt over her head and knocked her goggles askew. Lightly batting his hands away, she fixed her goggles then the shirt.

"Gotta re-bandage the stitches before I can pull on the pants," she said, trying to get him to set her down and gesture him out so she could do that. Apparently he wasn't willing to leave her alone again since he stood there and talked while she tended to her leg, careful to keep one of the towels over her lap so as not to accidentally flash him more than he had already seen.

Looking up at Kier after she had finished, she shrugged slightly and used the sink to stand, batting away his hands again stubbornly and tugging the sweats up over pale legs. "I'm not picky so whichever you have more of is fine. I don't cook so I'm sure whatever you made is better than anything I could. And you didn't have to cook at all, so thanks."

No matter how stubborn she was though, Shade couldn't walk on her own just yet, her leg trembling with even the slightest pressure and threatening to give out from under her. If she wanted to avoid more bruises and another nasty fall, she'd have to rely on Kier. Putting an arm around his waist when he took her weight, she couldn't help but lean her head against his shoulder. She was starting to enjoy the way he was helping her a little too much, she realized and lifted her head again, a light pink brushing over her face again.

What the hell was wrong with her?

While Shade bandaged up her leg, Kier just stood by and was swatted away when he tried to help her with the pants. For a minute, he was considering offering her shorts so changing the bandages wouldn't require her the take off her pants. But then again, shorts weren't such a great idea with her sensitivity to light.

In the kitchen, Kier took out strawberry jam from the refrigerator and a spoon. As he spread it over newly-made, unburnt slices of toast, he thought about Shade. That blush she got earlier when she leaned against him was strange. Cute, now that he could see it in better lighting, but still strange. This hadn't been the first time she blushed upon contact but Kier couldn't even think of a reason for this one. Either she was developing a sort of crush on him or she was feeling more conscious about having him so close after he saw her nude.

Kier opted for the latter considering the chances of her having anything close to affection after what he's done to her were pretty slim. With his mind made, he filed the thoughts away and picked up the plates, heading to the living room. He set down the two toast slices in front of Shade before grabbing the newspaper from outside and tossing it on the table. He didn't know why he bothered to take in the paper when he wasn't going to try reading it. Too many words.

Taking the seat across from her, he watched Shade eat. For no reason, he picked up the newspaper and leafed through it, too quickly for a person who was actually reading it. He wasn't reading any of it save for a couple words in the headlines. From the pictures, it was the predictable topics like gang activites. "I'm not sure if you're interested but," he started a few minutes later. "You can read the paper if you want. Oh, you want more toast too?" He'd only given her two slices but she must've been hungry if she didn't eat dinner last night.

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

Sighing softly after she was able to sit again, Shade set her hand over her thigh and started to lightly massage the muscle, being careful of the wound. Hopefully this would help ease the cramp.

Like Kier, she couldn't help but think of the one in the other room. For being someone who had never taken notice of the opposite sex other than as a general acknowledgement, she had certainly taken notice of Kier. She hadn't ever thought that she would find anyone attractive much less thought about which qualities she might like. Evidently though, she liked to be the shorter one in a couple and had enjoyed being carried, something that embarrassed her to no end considering how pigheaded she knew she could be. And the way she had liked how he had kissed and touched her without so much as a by your leave, both terrified and excited her - which was something that she found a bit concerning considering what had happened in the past and how in control she tried to be.

"Thanks," was offered as she picked up a piece of the toast in front of her. She had nearly finished the first when he tossed the paper down and started to watch her. Feeling self-conscious at his scrutiny, and even more so since she remembered taking off her bra last night (and what the hell had she been thinking? She didn't normally do stuff like that), she slowly turned red. And she was really starting to hate how pale she was.

She shook her head when he offered her more food and the paper, relieved that he had looked away earlier. While she knew she could eat more, doing so wouldn't be a good idea, not when taking into account the injury and how sick she had been feeling last night. "Could I get some more aspirin though? Please."

Kier nodded in response to Shade's request, laughing slightly about the 'please' tacked on at the end, and stood. The first aid kit was still in the bathroom, but he brought the whole thing out, digging for the aspirins while walking back out.

He didn't miss that the brunette blushed again even with his eyes on the paper since he wasn't really focused on trying to read the context. Was she embarrassed that he watched her eat for a couple minutes? The idea of his earlier theory came up again in his mind. It was hard to push the thought away now that it resurfaced for the second time. He'd ask about it later. Well, maybe not. But he'd certainly be more vigilant about the signs.

"Here," he said, holding out two white tablets to her. He watched as she popped them into her mouth and swallowing with ease. Watching her swallow them, he wondered how medicine tasted like. As far as he could remember, he was never really sick enough to need medication, or Lenah was just a bitch and refused to buy any when he had coughs. Gah, Lenah again. He had to stop this.

Unknowingly, Kier's gaze was concentrated at Shade's lips as he thought back about her little 'good-night' kiss. Now would be a good time as any to ask her about it, and hopefully setting her straight about these things. Another plus was that she was awake with a clear mind right now. Thought the effect of the aspirins would probably wear off around the evening. Which begged the question: where was Shade planning to stay tonight? He didn't care if she wanted to sleepover again; it was nice having another person around for a change (if she weren't so confusing...) . Well, the kiss questions/lecture could wait.

"So what are you going to do tonight? You wanna go back home?"

Re: [Shade]Shear Shipping for all you Bastards[Kier]

She frowned lightly when he laughed at her again, though it looked more like a pout. What was he finding so amusing about her? Or had he realized how much of a child she was? And that thought kind of hurt too. For some reason, she actually cared what Kier thought of her - which placed him in a group of people that she could count on one hand (all of which were male, amusingly enough).

Dropping her gaze as he returned to the room, she barely glanced up when he passed her the aspirin. A quickly murmured thanks and she swallowed them with the last of her water before focusing on her hands again and playing with the cup.

"So what are you going to do tonight? You wanna go back home?"

Eyes flickering up then down again, Shade started to chew on her lower lip as she thought. While she was fairly certain she wouldn't be able to get herself home, not without use of her mutation at any rate, she also was starting to feel like she was imposing. Maybe she could drag herself part way and find somewhere to hole up when she couldn't go any further. Thing was, she kind of wanted to stay here and spend more time with Kier, as much as he confused and flustered her.

Opening her mouth to respond, she didn't realize how chewing on her lip had plumped and pinkened it. "I... I don't know. I should but..." And here she blushed again, embarrassed to have to admit to needing help. "But I'm not sure I can make it. If me being here is a problem though, I'll go. I've already put you out enough already."
