She peered behind her when she didn't feel his towering presence walk into the pizza parlor, hand still outstretched behind her. K. Ree remained hovering just outside the door, peaking around, looking like he was ready to jump out of his skin as he finally crossed the threshold. There were only a handful of people in the parlor, thankfully. Otherwise he would never come in and she would never get her food.

She laughed softly, idly tapping her fingers on the glass pane separating her and the pizzas. "I was going to go easy on you, finish off my slices before getting more, but okay." Ceara waved over the man that took their orders and gestured to the five remaining slices of the pie. "Actually, I'll take the rest of it too, thanks."

While their meals were reheating in the oven, she nodded and sat herself down at the table farthest from everyone else. "Why are you so nervous around people, anyway?" The poor guy had looked like he was going to have a fucking anxiety attack while he was dragging her out of the crowd. Ceara wasn't the biggest fan of large groups of people as well, but that was different.

He laughed quietly at the sudden increase in her order and shrugged. He said she could eat what she wanted, and he wasn't going to go back on his word now. Not that he cared that much. At least his credits were going some where. He sauntered towards the back with her and took a seat, making sure he was in a position with his back to the door. If there were more customers it'd be easier for him if he didn't see them.
"Why are you so nervous around people, anyway?"
He looked up, his eyebrows and shoulders shooting up too. He opened his mouth to say something, but ended up shutting it with a frown. What the hell could he say? He didn't really know why himself, it had just kind of built up over years of assuming the worst about people. He blinked a few times and tilted his head a little, sinking down into the chair.

"Anxiety?" It was halfway between a statement and a question. He shrugged and sighed. "It just ended up like that, I've never been optimistic and especially not with people." He pulled his scarf up to his nose. "Interactions with others hardly ever go better than expected. You can't trust them, not really." He glowered for a minute, looking rather down before sighing and shaking his head. He'd rather vomit all over himself a hundred times then deal with the aftermath of a relationship gone sour. He had no partners, he had no friends - he didn't even have family. There wasn't even anyone alive who knew his name and he was actually super glad about that. He raised his brows again and put on a lopsided smile.
"Ha ha well that's just how things are, I guess."

She grinned at his little laugh, happy that he was at least relaxing a little bit. Nothing would make this situation any more strange and awkward than it already was, so him being a smidgen more comfortable around her helped a shitload.

Ceara nodded slightly at what he said. She guessed she could understand what he meant, in fact, that's what she thought most of the time too. Most people couldn't be trusted - they were going to hurt you eventually, no matter if that was their intention or not. But at least she had the benefit of knowing which ones she could trust at the moment, and which ones were worth dialog the hurt. She wasn't paranoid like he was, but she doubted anyone was. He took paranoia and anxiety to another level, but it was strangely amusing.

"Yup. As long as you're happy the way things are there's no reason to change." the man behind the counter called out their order and she stood, shaking her head. "I got it, it's fine." She returned his smile and went to the counter, returning moments later with the pizzas in her hand. Ceara set down her pie on her side of her table before placing his food on his. "There you go."

There were a few moments of silent eating - flapping her hands, in her case, because her food was too hot - before ceara spoke up again. "So do you really have information on just about everyone in the City, then? How the hell do you remember things like that?" She wasn't just saying this to make conversation, though. He could come in handy for future gang work.
