Within the Radius, there are only six tenets of law, but many ways to break them.

  1. Thou shall not Harm
  2. Thou shall not Steal
  3. Thou shall not Violate
  4. Thou shall not Sow Fear
  5. Thou shall not Commit Treason
  6. Thou shall not Use a Power Unauthorized*

*Breaking this tenet is always accompanied by breaking one of the other five and can lead to dual convictions.

Harm
Includes Murder, Manslaughter, Murder for Hire, Attempted Murder, Physical Assault, various forms of Abuse, and the like. If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of six (6) months to a maximum sentence of life without parole. The attached fine could be a minimum of 500 credits to a maximum of 1,000,000°.

Steal
Includes Auto Theft, Mugging, Shoplifting, Breaking and Entering, Hacking, Espionage, and the like. If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of three (3) months to a maximum sentence of fifteen (15) years. The attached fine could be a minimum of 250° to a maximum of 500,000°.

Violate
Includes Rape, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, Prostitution, Stalking, Kidnapping, Physical Trespass, Mental Trespass, and the like. If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of six months to a maximum sentence of life without parole. The attached fine could be a minimum of 750° to a maximum of 750,000°.

Sow Fear
Includes Terrorism in all its forms. If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of one (1) year to a maximum sentence of twenty-five (25) years. The attached fine could be a minimum of 100° to a maximum of 500,000°.

Commit Treason
If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of five (5) years to a maximum sentence of life without parole. The attached fine could be a minimum of 10,000° to a maximum of 1,000,000°.

Use a Power Unauthorized
Includes use of power on a non-harbinger and use of power in a restricted area. If convicted, the criminal may serve a minimum sentence of six (6) months to a maximum sentence of life without parole. The attached fine could be a minimum of 1000° to a maximum of 1,000,000°.

Convicted Criminals
If an individual is found guilty, they will either serve their time at the jail in the convicting district or, depending on severity of crime and the number of offenses, at Tartarus Prison (located in the Centrifuge). Inmates at the Prison are not allowed visitors or contact with anyone outside. It is common for inmates to die while incarcerated within and very few return.
