Fighting Over Lolita [Toby/Kier|Caden/Ceara]

Toby had a meeting point set up as he took a sip from the flask, his left hand gripping the cane tightly as he waited for his counterpart to show up. He had made an agreement to share the bounty if caught with another bounty hunter. Toby wasn't really worried about the pay anyway, he just liked the practice in catching criminals. Besides, on a night like this it was hard to be picky about earning cash when it was nice and clear for once. On a rainy night like some others this autumn had held for them, Toby's joints were even worse. Some days it felt almost impossible to get started and then once he was going he knew his next stop would most likely be his last for the day.
Pocketing the flask he took a few more stiff steps, switching hands so that his right was now carrying the cane. It was his usual preference, being right handed. It wouldn't make a difference except for the fact that the cane was also a tool by which he was able to electrocute people. The strength of your garden variety tazer, and still able to hold Toby's body weight or the amount he had to put on it in order to get around with his stiff knees.
"Feckin give me a break," he cursed as he opened and closed his left fist. The years hadn't been kind to his body with his restitution and each time it got worse he looked back on all the times he had used his abilities and hated himself a little more and more. In his youth he had squandered much of his mobility without a care for the Toby that would be around later. That was a huge mistake.
Toby looked down the alleyway, seeing a girl resting against the wall looking around and turning her gaze to him. He quickly fumbled to get his flask out and raise it, "TO GOOD HEALTH!" He called out and she just ignored him.
He turned and looked for his partner for this mission, hoping they'd be able to be nice and calm about this whole thing considering that was probably her right there from the get go.

It was yet another hunt in the West. Come to think of it, most of them he took recently had been in this district. Kier had gotten a message from another guy taking the bounty (there was at least four people in on this one last he checked). Considering the other person had messaged him like Fye did for 'Alice', Kier assumed he was a veteran hunter too.
Which is why he waited near the meeting on this fine night. There was an older man with a can standing around drinking alcohol from a flask. He had been there for a while. Kier was unsure whether or not this guy was the one who messaged him. He certainly didn't look like he was ready to catch anybody in this state. Unless he was just acting drunk...
Sighing, he flipped open his phone to check time, until the "TO GOOD HEALTH!" line made him flinch a bit and look up, immediately stuffing the cell back into his jeans pocket. Following the guy's line of site there stood a petite curly top in the alleyway. She seemed like she was trying her best to ignore the drunk. Keyword: trying.
"Yeah man, to good health. You might need it," he said, tapping the raised flask with the back of his hand. This man could just be his partner and that girl could just be their target. The girl was shifting a bit now, watching them.

He’d been contacted by his new partner. He had originally planned to go solo but there were a lot of potentials in playing buddies with someone else, you could never have too many toys after all. The amount of people who had signed up for the bounty was interesting though; 4 people including him and all for a little D-rank girl too.
It was unfortunate that the meeting place had to be such a dirty place. The alleyway was easy enough to find though, three people were already there: an old drunk, a red head, and a girl. His power was always on, all present were harbingers. The boy’s electrocution wasn’t that interesting- though they both shared hearing impairments- the old man and girl were intriguing though, albeit the old man’s would be the most useful for any harbinger battle. Though that would be completely useless considering that the target wasn’t one.
He approached the old guy, radiating pleasantness, “Hullo Mister~ you my partner for the mission then?” Geez he wondered if the man would be able to fight with those joints, maybe he was planning to just whack Lolita with his cane.

Ceara sighed and fiddled with her beanie, tucking more of the silvery strands under the fabric. On the run gang member or not, she was still a tad paranoid about any sort of confrontation with any Silver Dust members after her last run in with them. Though Hoss and Ceara had killed the confirmed members, there was still a chance her description might have left the bar that night. She did doubt that her paranoia was warranted tonight, though; Lolita was only a D-rank, and she had a partner this time. She had intended to run this solo, but with three other people looking for this girl there was bound to be a conflict somewhere, she thought it would be best to have another person on her side, so she contacted one of them.
The girl had done a little more research this time, learning her lesson from her last two bounties, and had messaged her new partner near a place where Lolita frequented. Upon reaching the alley, Ceara stepped in a few feet before leaning on the wall, observing the three other occupants; an older man with a cane, a red head about her age, and a girl much further down. Yup, she was right, that was probably her, and the fact that the two males were harbingers wasn’t a coincidence; one of them could be her partner, the other one her competition, or neither of them were and her real partner was late.
“Hullo Mister~ you my partner for the mission then?”
Ceara turned her head just in time to catch a glimpse of orange-yellow eyes before the man passed by her, talking to the old man. She felt a flash of indignation for being overlooked, but quickly stifled it. The newcomer wasn’t one for subtlety, she guessed, watching the other girl snap her eyes to him before walking further down the alley. She frowned, pushing off the wall herself. She didn’t know if the two other people that signed up for the bounty teamed up, so the white-haired man’s words didn’t tell her shit. Any of the men could still be her partner, and no one knew who was paired with whom. Ceara didn’t mind though, this was too much trouble. Fuck her temporary partner, the bounty was walking away and she’d be damned if she let Lolita escape simply because of a mix up.

"Yeah man, to good health. You might need it."Toby looked over and and laughed at the joke. Yes, this was his partner. He figured this was the one he needed anyway. He had a sense of humor to him, and while they were being joined by two more, he listened to the little shits take their turns at talking. The first was the kid who just seemed to be far too open about everything.
"Hullo Mister- you my partner for the mission then?"
"Nope." And with that nope, his cane would poke toward boy's gut as he triggered the shock mechanism in hopes of disabling him for a few seconds to give them a head start. During which Toby would simply say, "Don't just stand there, chase the bird, la!" To the redheaded joked who had knocked his flask. Toby turned and began making his own way down the alleyway as Lolita looked back and then peeled off away, turning sharply left down the road. There was no way that Toby would be catching her on a foot race to say the least. He had, however, parked nearby there. He had to hope that his partner was faster on foot than he was so that he could go to his car without losing track of her in the meantime.
Remember kids, don't drink and drive.
"Chase after her! I'll join yeh in a second!" He said, hobbling quickly toward his parked car before jumping into the driver seat and starting her up. He turned on his brights and peeled off to cut the girl off. While the others could chase her on foot, Toby could at least cut her off. Hell, he could have run her over but he didn't believe in killing these bounties no matter what they had done. It wasn't right to give a license to kill like that to just any old person. Even as a detective on the force he was never a fan of a sidearm.
He turned sharply to cut the girl off and chase her into the next alley over. She ran into it as Toby struggled to get his car turned off. He knew he would have trouble getting out of his car and it'd take him far longer than he cared to admit, but he knew the alley she was heading down was a dead end. If her partner or any of the others had chased her, they might find themselves confronting her.

Either the white haired guy didn’t see the target slouching against the wall or he was just stupidly obvious. Why would a person ask straight out about being partners? It was like telling the target ‘Hey we’re here to capture you.’
Kier spared only a second to smirk when the old man zapped a white haired guy that appeared before nodding and heading off after Lolita. At some degree, Kier was glad he saw the old man first. That was three people now. So where was the fourth? He ignored a little girl in a beanie that was walking in the target's general direction, assuming she was just a passerby. Behind him there was a faint sound of a car revving up. Hopefully the old man was sober enough to drive properly.
Even if he was more familiar with the East District than the other two, he still didn't know all the shortcuts like the target did. The girl was pretty quick too, veering off in sharp turns. Out of the four people that was chasing her, the redhead was probably the slowest next to the old man.
The black car was catching up to him (no surprise there) and parked just as Lolita zipped into an alley. The fact that the old man stopped probably meant she would have nowhere to run.

Ah well then. Perhaps he should’ve been a little more subtle then.
The taser in the cane was a bit of a surprise, he crumpled to the ground from the shock. It wasn’t the worst thing he’d ever experienced by a landslide and it succeeded in finally giving this bounty a bit of excitement. The old man’s words hit his ears a little after he had hobbled off, along with the redhead who had also been in the area and the target.
With all four of them in the area it would have been way too easy for someone to overtake her and they probably would’ve spent more time fighting each other than the actual target. A race was much more interesting. Though that meant all the good partners were taken; which left him with emotion girl.
“Well, that was dumb.” He made a perfect impression of muttering the statement under his breath in a frustrated tone while pushing himself back up to standing position. He turned to the only remaining girl, all humble and slightly embarrassed. “Sorry about that, I’m a bit new to this.” He flshed a innocent friendly smile.
There was always the chance the girl would flit off too, though good luck if she thought she could somehow fight off the other two and the target with such a measly ppower.

Ceara had heard the crackle of electricity from behind her and glanced over her shoulder just in time to see the white-haired idiot collapse on the ground. The old man limped away after calling out something to the red-head, who started after the target, completely passing by her without a second glance. The girl frowned (was everyone going to ignore her?) as she moved towards the man on the floor. Guess she was stuck with him. She wasn’t worried about the other two getting to the bounty before her, neither of them looked particularly fast, and even if they did manage to subdue Lolita first, she could always just somehow steal her away. Their fault for overlooking her.
“Well, that was dumb. Sorry about that, I’m a bit new to this.”
She blinked, immediately scanning him out of habit and recoiling mentally at what she found. So he was that guy. The type to smile and act all friendly only to turn around and backstab the people who trusted him. The kind of twisted bastard that enjoyed fucking with other people’s emotions. He was good at acting, though, she’d give him that. One of the best acts that she had seen in a long time. But she wasn’t buying it. “It’s fine, people do stupid things sometime,” she gave him her own bright smile, though hers had a slight edge, making it clear that she wasn’t fooled by him. “Are you okay to run? Okay, good.”
Ceara didn’t wait for an answer, taking off down the alley. It didn’t surprise her that she overtook the redhead quickly, and she shot him a small smile over her shoulder as she knocked a nearby trashcan over as she passed it. Her attention focused back on Lolita, watching her as she made abrupt turns and copying the other girl’s motions. There was a screech behind her just as she followed the bounty into an alley, finding herself trapped between a car and a dead end with Lolita.

Maybe the wouldn't be overlooked if she had been a little taller. It was no surprise that she passed him though, throwing a smug smile at him. He easily avoided the trash can knocked into his path. It's fine, Kier knew he was probably strong enough to take Lolita away since the girl was trapped in an alley. He didn't think much of the idiot who got zapped back there.
The target looked a bit nervous, most likely by the number of people chasing her. She thought she could outrun them like that? Especially the old man, who for some reason was just taking his sweet time in his car. Well whatever, three Harbingers were enough for this one girl.
"Nowhere to run now, princess," he said approaching the girls, giving the petite (or petites) a look that dared her to try. She wouldn't get very far that was for sure.His brass knuckles were on already, having put them on as he ran over. He was curious to see how good of a hand-to-hand combatant she was, assuming he got the chance to fight her before the other pursuers.
