Shade let go of Haze, but stuck close, following her to the door and nudging it open just that little bit extra so she could peer through as well. Her arm was hurting even more without the support of her shadows and she could just imagine the pallor her skin had fallen into, but relaxing at this point could get them killed so she kept a corner of her mind on her mutation and held it ready.

She huffed softly in awe, watching Fye move and fight. Yeah, the scales and claws (and were those horns?) were new, but he clearly knew what he was doing. She absently wondered if he'd be willing to help her learn how to bounty hunt better, but that would be something to ask some other time.

Ouch. That had to hurt, she thought with a wince after the blond had been sent staggering back and Hippo turned tail and ran. When the remaining man made his way to the kitchen door, she backed away, tugging Haze with and letting her power slip away again. He looked a little pissed - which if she had learned anything about him by now, it was how he didn't completely show his emotions, which meant that he was more than just a little upset.

"Well?"

Shade blinked up at him. "Are you okay?" she asked, momentarily forgetting about her own injuries.

The girls watched the two men fight, Ceara letting out a small whistle as she watched Shade’s friend battle it out with the bounty. She was impressed and more than a little in awe of the man’s combat prowess and his harbinger ability. She couldn’t be sure exactly what his power was, but if he could sprout horns, claws, and scales and breathe fire (some sort of dragon, maybe?), it was pretty damn awesome.

Ceara frowned a little when Hippo landed a solid hit on the man’s jaw, but relaxed when the rounder man stumbled out of the bakery. She felt an insistent tug on her arm and looked back at Shade before allowing her to move them both back, eyes still fixed on the tall blonde. Against her better judgment, she took a brief peek at his aura, the turbulent red of it contrasting sharply with the almost impassive look on his face.

“Well?”

“Are you okay?”

The girl blinked and stepped back, letting Shade go up to the man. Feeling slightly awkward, Ceara looked up to meet his eyes –fuck he was tall- and gave him an apologetic smile. “Sorry for throwing up in your garbage can.” Obviously that wasn’t what he was pissed about, but she felt like she needed to apologize for something. Scratching the back of her head, she paused and looked around before bending over to collect a few pans and utensils that had been knocked to the floor during the fight.

"Alive. Racing time." Now wasn't the time to explain. He went to the cabinet that held the first aid kit, pulling it out and setting it with a thud in front of both the girls, an obvious invitation before turning to the trash can that had been contaminated, removing the bin liner, claws catching in the plastic, before leaning out the door and tossing it out in the direction of the dumpster. It landed neatly inside, and Fye huffed a sound of contentment in the back of his throat.

Turning back inside, he skirted the two girls and passed through another door, into the hallway this time, clicking claws going from lino to the rug on the floor, headed to his bedroom slash storage room, looking behind one shelf and another, removing a large piece of plywood and snagging a box of nails from another shelf and returning to the kitchen with both items in tow to nail the wood to the half-shattered back door frame with his scale-covered hands. He yawned suddenly at the end of the procedure, exhaled an exasperated breath, and turned to the two girls.

"Be more careful next time. I'm going to shift back now, so when you leave make sure the front door is closed behind you." He'd have to take the cash register in with him as well, otherwise he'd be leaving himself open to robbery as well as property damage.

Racing time? What did that -- Oh. Must be something with his restitution. She opened the kit, fishing out a roll of pressure bandaging and setting it on the surface next to the kit. There weren't any splints in there, but a couple of long chunks from the broken door would work well enough. She stepped aside so Haze could get to the kit, using her shadows to trim the wood to the size and shape she needed.

"Be more careful next time. I'm going to shift back now, so when you leave make sure the front door is closed behind you."

Shade huffed in irritation and glared up at him, right hand hovering over her broken arm as it was wrapped in the bandage by the shadows she still had called up. She had managed to forget about him doing that the last time too. "I was." The necklace was a non-issue at this point and was not something that was going to happen again. "I got information on him and was planning on coming here first to see if you had any advice or whatever. And Haze and I were planning to work together. It's not like either of us expected for him to come walking up behind us while we were on our way here."

And sure she'd make sure the door was closed, but she wasn't planning on going anywhere just yet. If he was concerned about the timing of something or other, than that probably meant that he wouldn't be up to doing anything, especially if he was telling them to close the door.

Ceara frowned, feeling awfully like a child being chastised, and moved over to the first aid kit the man had taken out. She pulled out an antiseptic wipe packet and tore it open, wiping off the dried blood on her forehead. The sting of the wipe on the cut made her hiss in pain, but the wound wasn't deep at all. The girl leaned over and rummaged around before taking out a few pills of aspirin, dry swallowing them.

"I was. I got information on him and was planning on coming here first to see if you had any advice or whatever. And Haze and I were planning to work together. It's not like either of us expected for him to come walking up behind us while we were on our way here."

"We would have been fine, if the bounty didn't have the hardest fucking head in the entire bloody City," Ceara grumbled, glaring at the small bruises already forming over the knuckles of her right hand. "But thanks, sir," she said, meeting the baker's eyes.
