Andrew was fairly dancing as he waited for Marjorie to come down, being a bit obnoxious by texting her every couple of minutes, pestering her to wake up and roll out of bed and get dressed and hurry up and that the sooner she did all of that the sooner he would stop texting her and no even though she had replied he wasn't going to stop until she was standing in front of him.

He did, however, take a moment to stop so he could text Ceara and tell her to meet him at the bowling alley they had talked about going to the other week. He also tacked on that he had someone he wanted her to meet, knowing that would pique her interest and get her to show up, if only to see how trustworthy this person was and tell him how much of an idiot he was for starting to hang around with a girl four years younger than them.

When Marjorie finally did appear, Andrew grinned and gave her a quick hug then proceeded to drag her down the street to meet up with Ceara. Hopefully they weren't late because she'd hit him otherwise.

Marjorie was quite possibly in the most foul mood she had been in yet. She had been out late on her new so-called job, body used, abused, and generally dirty feeling, and had fallen onto her bed to take a long nap when her phone started going crazy. It was…Andrew. Outside her apartment. Texting incessantly. And making her get up because she forgot how to turn of the whole vibrator/ringer thing without turning the whole thing just plain off. And knowing her friend, he’d probably climb in through the window. The phone made her jumpy as she forced herself awake and dressed in something more decent. And since it went off –again- while she was walking down the stairs, she let him hug her and drag her along with only a death glare. The first busy street though and she punched him, hard, on his shoulder. It really only served to make herself more sore. “Ow fuck, you’re bony. And why are you dragging me across town Andrew? I just want to sleep.” She leaned against him before getting dragged along some more.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Ceara groaned, wriggling an arm out of the nest that was her blankets to grab a pillow and smack her phone off the dresser with it. It was too early for people (well Andrew, he was really the only one who would bother her at this time) to be calling. Wait, no – she lifted her head gingerly, glancing at the digital clock on her dresser – it was nearly noon. Crap. She should get up. But she really did not want to move, she was sore everywhere, and really just wanted to go back to sleep. After what had happened the night before, she managed to stumble back to her apartment only a couple of hours earlier before collapsing on her bed, falling asleep again.

But she knew Andrew, and if she didn’t answer soon he would start to spam her. And that would be more annoying than anything he would have planned for the day. Maybe. So she unrolled herself from her sheets and grabbed her phone off the floor, scrolling through the text. He had someone for her to meet? That didn’t… Ceara hoped he wasn’t trying to set her up, because that was just awkward and she was just fine.

She nearly fell asleep in the shower, but besides that she quickly got dressed and ready, and refilled Sassy’s food and water before heading out. Coffee was grabbed from a local deli on the way to the bowling alley, and within twenty minutes she was there, leaning on the wall while she kept her eyes open for her cousin and whoever he wanted her to meet.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Andrew blinked when Marjorie hit him, not really affected by it. Ceara hit him a hell of a lot harder than that. Shrugging it off, he peered closely at her, not liking what he saw. "I'm taking you to meet someone. I think you and she would get along really well." He paused and flicked his eyes over her again. "What's wrong? Are you sick or something? You don't look too good." He slowed a little so he could walk with his arm around her shoulders, hoping that would help a little. If not, well, they could all just skip bowling. Maybe movies at Ceara's, if she was comfortable with that.

He grinned and lifted an arm to wave when he saw his cousin's pale hair. It didn't even occur to him how it might look to her the way he was walking up with his arm around someone. Especially since he hadn't been spending as much time with her as he used to.

When they got to Ceara, he let go of Marjorie to hug his cousin. "Hi. Sorry for taking so long. We walked."

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

“I’m fine, just tired,” Marjorie said shortly, leaning into him more, glad for the bit of added warmth from his arm, not to mention the safety of it. She thought about telling him what she was doing, but she hadn’t yet. It hadn’t come up in conversation but if she told now…wouldn’t that be complaining? After all, this way earned more money and, well, Carter had pointed out that he clothed, sheltered, fed, and employed her at a massive loss to his own profits. Shaking her head slightly, she repressed the bit of guilt she had for keeping a secret and tried to focus on reality. “I’ll wake up in a few minutes.” He was taking her to meet someone? That did help her wake a bit and she took a step closer to him, nervous and a bit distrustful. He wouldn’t introduce her to someone that wasn’t trustworthy, she reminded herself, standing on tiptoes to figure out who they were meeting. There was a girl watching Andrew wave, and they appeared to be approaching her, so she looked at the girl. She seemed as tired as Marjorie herself.

She smiled and lifted a hand in a small wave, unable to raise it much higher than shoulder height. Her brow lifted when she noticed the small girl her cousin had an arm around. Was she meeting a girlfriend today? That was certainly an odd concept, though she couldn’t say she was surprised. Andrew was a nice and friendly guy, he would have no trouble finding someone if he wanted to. But she couldn’t help but wonder how long the two walking toward her had known each other, because if it was more than a month and she was just hearing about it now, Andrew was getting hurt.

Limping slightly towards the two, she tugged her scarf higher up on her neck, concealing the injuries and other things that had been left there last night. Her cousin didn’t have to know everything about her. She accepted his hug, gingerly wrapping her arms around his waist. "Hi. Sorry for taking so long. We walked."

“’s alright,” she mumbled, pulling away. “I just got here a few minutes ago. And who’s 'we'?” She extended a hand to the other girl, hiding the wince with a smile. “Ceara. You don’t look so good, you alright?” She glanced back to her cousin. “She’s a little bit young for you, don’t you think?”

Andrew was frowning pretty deeply, looking between the two girls. He was supposed to be the one with random injuries, not them. It went without saying that he was not happy in the least about this.

"Ceara, you're not one to talk. You were limping and your arm is bothering you. What happened?" He glanced at the other girl. "And Marjorie, you're normally more awake than this by now. Are you okay?"

He blinked as his cousin's question filtered in and he sent a light scowl her way. "No, she isn't my girlfriend. We met a couple weeks ago and just kind of hit it off. She's an artist and likes to run too." He grinned widely, pretty sure he knew what was going through his cousin's mind at that.

Shrugging, he gestured the girls to start walking away. "We'll go bowling some other time. Neither of you look up to the noise. But, that means I'm out of ideas. Either of you have any?" Because he didn't really care what they did, so long as he got the girls introduced and they got along. He'd be happy then.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Post by EllaKey Tue Feb 05, 2013 2:18 pm

Marjorie was blushing deeply enough for it to be visible, looking up at Ceara in surprise. Why was she so easy to read? “I’m not that young! I’m nearly sixteen!” She looked down, rubbing her eyes as she tried to wake up more. “And I’m fine. I just was out late last night with a final delivery and got called in before I could take a nap.”
She was still blushing when Andrew smiled, looking up at him and Ceara, feeling rather lost.
“I’m still confused about why you thought bowling was a good idea to begin with,” she said rather dryly, stepping behind Andrew a bit. She had just noticed Ceara’s eyes and felt nervous. True, she wasn’t sure what Andrew’s mutation was yet, but she knew he was safe. Something clicked with him. And he was friends with this girl, so didn’t that mean she was safe? Marjorie wasn’t sure. “Movies would be fun,” she suggested, wishing she hadn’t shouted to begin with, pretty certain that her first impressions left much to be desired.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

She grimaced, pulling back even more and rubbing a shoulder. “Nah, it’s fine, just a bit sore. Don’t worry about it. I just pushed myself a little too hard last night, did things I haven’t done in a while.” Which was actually true, but just not the whole truth. She’d rather be vague, though, then tell him what really happened. Her cousin would not react well at all.

The girl – Marjorie, now – wasn’t his girlfriend? That was good, considering she would have to smack Andrew over the head if she was since Marjorie was a minor and that would not have ended well. “She's an artist and likes to run too." She blinked, looking between the two. She could see the similar build. So this girl was just like Andrew, then. Hopefully she wouldn’t be like him personality-wise, or else Ceara might have to slam her head into the nearest wall.

Though she doubted it, seeing how the younger girl was shying away from her. “I’m not going to hurt you, so relax,” she gave her a tired smile. “And a movie sounds great. We can head back to my place-“ Ceara cut herself off, remembering how much of a train wreck her apartment was when she came back the night before. “Actually, never mind. We can go to the theaters? I’ll pay.”

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Andrew frowned softly at his cousin's response but nodded slowly. He assumed that she meant she had had a gang mission and something had happened then. Which reminded him, he needed to look into more for himself. Not that he cared about progressing through the hierarchy himself, but he had joined to keep an eye on her back and he couldn't do that if she was on more dangerous missions.

He grinned down at Marjorie for speaking up. He knew how shy she could be. Reaching out, he ruffled her hair then dropped his arm around her shoulders again. He then beamed at Ceara. "Sure, that's fine by me. If I fall asleep, feel free to talk over me," he said with a laugh.

He slung his arm over Ceara's shoulders as well, making sure to keep his grip light since he knew something was wrong with her arm. Bending toward her a little, he met her eyes to say, "You will be telling me about your injuries later, 'kay?" Straightening again, he started to walk the girls down the street, toward the nearest theater.

"So, what kind of movie do we want to see?"

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

The theater? Marjorie perked up. She had gone twice before, once with her family – against their will, they had stopped trusting her at home alone – and once after she had run away. Both times, the movie had sucked, and she had bought the refillable popcorn bucket (the second time) and ate so much that she actually got sick from popcorn. The bucket she used now to carry some extra supplies around when wandering about the city. “Yes, the theater, let’s go there!” She had noticed Ceara’s apparent injuries but didn’t know her, so she didn’t question it at all, letting Andrew do whatever he pleased with the older girl, preferring to burrow into Andrew’s side. “Ceara, are you a harbinger too?” she asked more softly, looking around the redhead to her. “And how do you guys know each other?” she asked, trying to see it. Same gang? Maybe. Family? They certainly didn’t look alike, and if they were both harbingers, well that just made it less likely.
She didn’t have an answer to what movie they should see. It’s not like she had been able to pay attention to that sort of thing.

Ceara tsked when her cousin demanded that she explain later, but didn’t say anything, allowing him to lead her and his friend towards the nearest theater. Like hell she would. He’d be hounding her for an explanation for a while, but the truth would probably worry him even more. “Yes, the theater, let’s go there!” She peaked around Andrew’s body to glance at the younger girl, amused by how excited she was despite how Marjorie was half hidden behind her cousin.

“So, what kind of movie do we want to see?”

She shrugged, leaning a little more into Andrew’s side. “I have no idea what’s playing right now, but something with some action would be nice. And yes I am, Marjorie,” her eyes were kind of a dead giveaway, weren’t they? At least some harbingers had relatively normal colored eyes, while there was very little she could do about her bright purple ones. “Don’t worry, I can’t blow up things with my mind or anything like that. You’re one too, right?”

“And how do you guys know each other?”

Ceara smirked, nudging Andrew with her shoulder. “Cousins. And yeah, we don’t see the resemblance either.”

Andrew shot a teasing grin at Ceara then looked at Marjorie, serious except for the laughter dancing in his eyes. "Yep. 'Course, we didn't know that at first. The first time we met I almost ran into her and made her spill her coffee so I bought her a new one and we talked but then we argued and split. Then we met up again and she dropped her wallet and I saw the picture of her dad, my uncle, and I was asking her about it without making much sense and she got annoyed and pushed me off the roof." He stopped there to listen to their reactions, grunting softly at the elbow his cousin dug into his abs.

Gently squeezing Marjorie's shoulders, he smiled at her. "The wonders of being one of what we are, huh? And don't worry, it was an accident. She's much better about it now. Unless cars are involved." He twitched at this elbow before poking Ceara in the side. "You're going to be perfectly fine. It's me she picks on," he said with a laugh.

When they got to the theater, he glanced at the movie posters. "How about that one?" he asked, nodding at one.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Post by EllaKey Fri Apr 05, 2013 4:00 pm

Marjorie stared at the two in disbelief, obviously disbelieving them. There was no way they could be actual cousins.”You’re a freaking liar Andrew, and I know that. If you two were related you’d look more alike. And how the heck do you expect me to believe she pushed you off a roof? That’s how I know you’re lying.”
When asked if she was a harbinger as well, Marjorie flushed and looked down, shoulders hunching up a bit as she shoved her glasses up her nose once more, trying to think before she replied.””Y-yeah, I am, I guess. I um…I can make drawings come to life. Ink drawings mainly. Chalk and crayon don’t do as well and graphite can be erased too easily.” She blinked, realizing she had given too much information. She didn’t even know Andrew’s mutation OR his restitution and she had just met Ceara and…her mind whirled so she didn’t even hear Andrew asking about the movie. She was just remembering how she had told Carter her mutation without thought, realizing that’s probably why he had shown her so much kindness in the beginning.

She rolled her eyes and jabbed at him at his recount of their first meeting and finding out about how they were family. Really, it wasn't as bad as he made it seem... Okay yes, it was. At least it was a complete accident and he knew that. Ceara laughed softly at the younger girl's little outburst, nodding slightly. "Yeah, I get what you mean, we don't look like family at first glance. But take away the weird colors and we have the same eyes, sort of." It was a lite creepy, to be honest, to see little bits of herself when she looked at him. Ceara tilted her head up at Andrew. "You didn't tell her about your power?"

Her eyes followed where her cousin had been pointing to as he talked, nodding slightly. That movie was fine, she really didn't have any preference at all. Her head turned back to the other two. "That's pretty awesome, Marjorie." Seriously, everyone she knew had a cooler power than her. "And I told you to stop being so nervous." Poor thing looked like she was about to have a panic attack when she talked about her mutation.

Andrew looked at Marjorie for a moment then turned to Ceara and put his hands on her shoulders to turn her. "Don't mind me," he said a bit absently as he tugged her wallet from her pocket.

Rolling his eyes at how his cousin was swatting his arm and telling him off, he opened it to show a picture to Marjorie. "That's Ceara's dad, my uncle. She's got the same cheeks and nose as him. And look, he and I smile the same way." He wrapped an arm around Ceara's shoulders and tugged her to his side. "And we've got the same chin," he added, lowering his head next to the older girl's and pressing their cheeks together.

"For the roof thing, it's my power. I can jump or fall any distance and not get hurt. Just makes me really dizzy and screws with my coordination. Hits me harder if I jump with someone than if it's just me." He grinned at Marjorie and reached out to ruffle her hair. "I can show you later if you want me to."

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Post by EllaKey Sat Apr 27, 2013 10:42 am

She was watching Andrew grope Ceara? That was weird – wasn’t incest something only done in the outskirts of South? But no, just the wallet, she realized, letting out a breath of relief. It was too early to deal with this sort of stuff. She took the wallet, shoving her glasses up her nose and peering at them intently, trying to see through the differences for the similarities. “All right, I guess I can see it just a little,” she conceded before bristling. “And I’m not nervous! I’m tired and twitchy after working all night.” And that didn’t even include the fact that she had difficulty explaining her power.
And then there was Andrew’s power. She stared at him blankly for a moment, processing the information, brain attempting to diagram it out so it made sense to her sleepy mind.
“So all those times we were racing and you beat me and looked like you were about to fall over…oh my God. Andrew, that’s cheating and not fair!” She shoved at him playfully. Figured though. It certainly explained his love of extreme parkour.

She squeaked indignantly when her cousin suddenly grabbed her, smacking his arms despite the sharp pain that shot up her arm. "Andrew what the fuck are you-" She trusted him not to hurt her, but even still she didn't like being manhandled like that. Oh, he was only going for her wallet, but she still squirmed and swore when he tugged her close, pouting as she tried to pull away from her cousin's face. "Stupid..."

"Alright, I guess I can see it just a little."

She grunted and extracted herself from her cousin, reaching out to take back her wallet and slide it back into her pocket. "I know that feeling," she laughed softly, forgetting that she had just been kind of angry at her cousin and moving forward to lean her head on his shoulder, exhausted. "I know Andrew probably bullied you into coming, but we don't have to go for a movie, if you're too tired."

Ceara smiled as she listened to the younger girl yell at her cousin, realizing that was probably exactly how she looked like when she was yelling at him. "He tends to forget that his power might be considered a little unfair; I think he uses it so much that it's a normal thing for him."

Andrew stuck his tongue out at Ceara before turning to Marjorie, draping his arm easily enough over his cousin's shoulders, squeezing lightly before rubbing her upper arm.

He pouted at both girls as they ganged up on him, dropping his arm from Ceara's shoulders to hold up his hands innocently. "Hey, I've only used my power once. Well, technically twice but the second one wasn't by choice. And I wasn't running across the street either! The driver didn't look before pulling out of the parking structure. On the bright side, hitting me prevented an accident," he said with a grin. "Besides, it's not cheating. It's making use of all of my talents." He lightly poked Marjorie's shoulder, a teasing smile on his face. "Besides, how many times have you tripped me or thrown a frog at me before taking off?"

He shifted to look at his cousin again. "And I don't forget that it might be unfair. I just forget that no one else can do the same things I can," he said, sticking his tongue out again.

This time he slung his arms over both their shoulders, leaning his cheek against the top of Marjorie's head. "But yeah, if you're not feeling up to it, we can do something else. The same goes for you Ceara." He'd rather they were both happy than anything else.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Post by EllaKey Sat Jun 29, 2013 11:46 pm

“There’s a major difference between a frog and being able to survive falls from any height,” Marjorie argued, stifling a yawn. “I want to go to a movie!” she shouted, grabbing the cousins’ hands and dragging them behind her, determined to have overbuttered, burnt popcorn and soda that had too much carbonated water and not enough flavoring – all paid out the wazoo because, of course, theaters could get away with anything. She stopped quickly, remembering that detail. “But…how do I pay for it?” Theoretically, she was well off. The problem was that her pimp kept all her money, leaving her even more broke than Andrew. Heck, even the apartment she stayed at wasn’t really hers after all. She was lucky to have a sink with running water. She started digging through her bag, handing Ceara her sketchbook to hold. She winced when she found an open razor, cutting herself on accident before she got to her wallet. It had a few bills in it but not enough to cover her ticket.

Ceara had dropped her head down to her cousin's shoulder, closing her eyes briefly. Just a moment of rest. That's all she wanted. That wasn't asking for much at all. But the younger girl's sudden grip on her hand and tug forward caused her eyes to shoot open as she hissed in pain, pulling her arm out of Marjorie's hand when she could. The girl forgot about Ceara's injuries in her excitement and that was understandable, but fucking ow. Girl was stronger than she looked. "Easy, Marjorie... We can go, just chill..." She grimaced as she lifted her arm to gingerly rub her shoulder.

"But... how do I pay for it?"

"It's fine, I can cover-" Ceara instinctively grabbed the book shoved in her hands, watching the younger girl dug through her bag with a surprising viciousness. The wince didn't escape her, and she sighed, reaching out her hand to set it on Marjorie's shoulder. "I'll cover you. You too, Andrew," she bumped her head against his shoulder. "I have some money to spend," understatement, "And I wouldn't mind treating you guys." Ceara meant it in the least malicious or superior way, but she could afford the occasional thing like this, while by the looks of it, they couldn't.

Trying not to laugh at Marjorie's exuberance since he was sure that Ceara'd think he was laughing at her and it would get him hit, Andrew pressed his lips together and looked away from both of them, acting like he was engrossed with watching the traffic go by. He turned back to watch Marjorie dig through her bag, opening his mouth to offer to pay for her when his cousin beat him to it. The redhead couldn't help the soft sigh of relief since, while he did actually have the credits to afford it, it would pretty much wipe out his funds.

"Thanks Ceara," he said, grinning at her and leaning down to kiss her forehead. "So, we're going to see the shoot-'em-up that has explosions and probably no harbingers and we're gonna get a bunch of junk food, right? Where do we want to sit? In the back?" He looked at Marjorie. "Will you be able to see okay there or should we aim for the middle?" he asked, nodding at her glasses. He figured that they may as well know now, before they got in so they could just go right to where they wanted instead of debating it on the stairs.

"Sure let's see that. I'm sure it's the only way you'd stay awake anyway." Marjorie smiled at Ceara, shyly ducking behind Andrew. "Thank you for paying," she whispered, nearly unheard.

Honestly, she didn't have a preference on where to sit. So long as the movie was not as awful as the other two she had seen. And hey, if Andrew fell asleep, then she could doodle on his face. She had enough ink after all.

It was Ceara she was nervous about. She clenched her hand shut to stem the bleeding from where she had cut herself, pressing against Andrew. "You guys won't let me sleep through the movie, will you?" She hoped not, but she knew she would almost nod off once or twice.

Mock pouting, she lifted a hand to rub at her forehead where he kissed her. "Don't like it when you do that," she mumbled, "And you guys are welcome." They were her friends, or a least Andrew was, and she liked Marjorie.

She laughed and nodded, silently agreeing with the younger girl. Andrew could have the attention span of a squirrel sometimes, so a big flashy movie was probably the best way to keep him from passing out. Though it might not be a good thing that he was awake - she was willing to bet money that he was the kind of guy to chatter throughout the movie, and she would have to smack him to get him to shut up.

"Easier to see in the middle." Ceara jerked her head towards the ticket booth, glancing down at the younger girl's hand with concern as they got on line. "You gonna be alright?" She would offer her her scarf, but... She wasn't sure how Andrew would react, but she was sure that she didn't want to face the grilling that was bound to happen. Her cousin was her cousin, he didn't need to know about her sex life.

Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie Empty Re: Clones And Cousins -- Andrew, Ceara, Marjorie

Andrew just grinned at Ceara. He knew she acted like she didn't like the small gesture of affection, but he was pretty sure it was just an act. And even if it wasn't, well, she hadn't hit him for it yet so he wasn't going to stop any time soon.

He trailed along after them, slipping his hands in his pockets and humming absently, and a bit tunelessly, to himself. "So, are we going to get crappy popcorn that tastes a bit like soggy cardboard and flat sodas to help with the salt?" he asked cheerfully, grinning down at the two of them. He really couldn't care less about getting either, but they were kind of part of the whole experience, weren't they?

When they had their tickets and were inside, he looked at the younger girls (if barely for one of them). "Well, ladies?" He bounced on the balls of his feet a bit, looking back and forth between them with his eyebrows raised. If they wanted snacks, he'd ask if they wanted him to go grab seats; if not, then they could all go. Either way, he was pretty sure he was going to be the one sitting in the middle.
