And yet another vague mission with vague instructions. Only this time he was flying solo and the location was in the North, much to Kier's dismay. He actually could have turned it down but he was up for trying something new. It was interesting how the North, supposedly the best district, is receiving shady deliveries from a Merc gang. The paper had given a general area of the meeting place, which Kier had realized only after he got near that it was very near the sleek black building of his parent's workplace.

Now that wasn't strange at all. Oh, and did he mention it was a delivery this time?

Kind of the reason he tried to dress a delivery boy. He pulled his baseball cap lower over his eyes--which were toned down again by blue contacts--and juggled the medium weight package in his hands. The box was your average package size in nondescript brown wrapping with an address sticker stuck on it. It was probably fake since the address on it was two streets down from Elm, the street he was actually supposed to deliver to. He supposed it was to confuse anyone who nabbed the package, but said thief wouldn't be so dumb as not to notice the delivery boy was going to a completely different destination.

Since it was still afternoon, the slight glow of his eyes that the contacts could not mask weren't so noticeable. Not that many people would approach him like this any more than they would on a normal day.

Tam had warned him about being tailed by a rivaling gang member. But Kier had just said bring it on. The whole delivery process had been the most boring mission he had done by far. Absently, he tossed the parcel back and forth between his hands as he strolled through the streets, wondering if someone would attack him for having the package so obviously in the open.

Ceara sighed and shifted her bag around so that it wasn't digging so damn hard into her shoulder. Sometimes she wondered the practicality of dragging around a ten pound hammer, but she loved her dear weapon too much to leave it home during a mission she knew she could bring it on, though she doubted she'd need to use it. Just in case. She tucked a lock of temporarily blonde hair behind a ear as she looked up, making sure the man she was tailing was still a block or so away. The hair was an another precaution, Ceara knew her usual hair was too recognizable and she was going for the normal person look right now.

Follow the man, find out who the package was going to, and grab it if possible. Didn't seem that hard, though it would've helped to know the job would be this fucking dull. She dropped her gaze again, not waning to call any unwanted attention to herself in the off chance he looked behind him. The job at the bar was infinitely many times more interesting than this, even if she had to play the vapid idiot then. Maybe going solo wasnt a good idea. Even Hoss, that ass, would be relatively welcome, if he entertained her. Walking around was not fun. The girl wondered if she could screw finding out who the Oblivion member was delivering to, and simply go for the package, but she doubted the higher ups would be very pleased with that. She wanted to keep her position, the jobs were decent pay, and she didn't want to lose that. And so she kept walking a good distance behind him, eyes trained on the man, watching for any sign that he was aware of her presence.

Was Kier aware of the pretty blonde shorty tailing him? Not in the slightest. But he could feel that unsettling chill that he was being followed. He was more on the lookout for a thug-ish looking guy, or at least a menacing looking woman. Of course, he was not going to judge by appearances if he was attacked by a tiny, nice-looking person.

Whoever was following him, had to be just as bored as he was. He kind of hoped they'd just pull a gun out and attack him already.

Well, it wasn't long before he reached the office building with two security guards standing outside the door, the crowd thinning in the area around the building. He glanced behind him, wondering if his pursuer would be made more visible with the lack of people. Nope.

The instructions the red-head had received had given him the address of the building, but not specifically where. Yeah, real specific. The building was fucking huge and had at least thirty floors. As a kid he never visited his parents' workplace on his own, nor was he ever invited. Would the receptionists inside let him see Michael Vega if he asked? Nah, probably not, with the way he was dressed in a solid colored hoodie and dark wash jeans. The attire itself was completely not suited for the professional environment.

Kier supposed he could try the front, and was obviously stopped by the security. "Excuse me, sir. What business do you have here?" He looked back over at the middle aged guard and shot a friendly smile.

"Just a delivery boy. I have a package for your boss, Michael Vega. Elliot requested I deliver it to him personally." Kier let the words tumble out, pulling from his memory the name of his father's trusted secretary. The two guards exchanged looks and hesitantly let him pass, instructing him to check with the receptionist.

As he was stepping in, however, the younger guard grabbed his arm. "One second sir. May I see the package?" Ohh, shit. Those words must have shown on his face because the guard's expression hardened and he stepped in front of Kier to grab the parcel. "We cannot let you pass sir. I will kindly ask you to turn around and avoid any sort of trouble."

Keeping his eyes hidden, Kier took a step back. "Yeah, will do. Once you give me back the package." Damn he didn't really think he could fuck up, and so early at that. He just needed to destract them for a second so he could get away and find a back entrance of something.

Obviously this person was not very smart, if he expected to just walk through the front doors of a well-guarded building without being stopped by the security. And, of course, he was. Ceara’s eyes narrowed as she watched the group of three, starting to amble about with the rest of the thin crowd. No, this wasn’t good. She was supposed to take the package, not those guards. It wouldn’t bode well for anyone if whatever was inside that got into their hands. She frowned as she thought, knowing that she probably had to save this idiot’s ass.

“Yeah, I’m coming back now. Meyer forced me to stay overtime to do something for him…”

She followed the man talking on his cellphone with her eyes as he passed her, the gears already turning in her head. Well, the worse that can happen was that she could be thrown out, if her assumptions were wrong, so… Her cheeks puffed out as she huffed before she straightened up, moving towards the front entrance with a confidence that said she knew what she was doing. It was a good thing that Ceara was a good actress, because she really didn’t have any clue where she was going with this. All she knew was that she had to stop the men from taking that package from that Oblivion member. She strode right past the group without a second glance at them, hoping at least one of the guards would stop her.

“Excuse me, miss?”

She smiled softly but didn’t respond until the second time he called out for her. She looked over her shoulder just in time to see the younger man hand the box to the older guard and start toward her. “Yes? I don’t need someone to escort me up, my father knows I’m coming and I know where to go.”

A confused blink, followed by a slightly suspicious glare. “Who… Your father, miss?”

Her lips pulled down into an impatient frown. “Yes, my father, Meyer?” Ah, there it was, a slight flash of apprehension. Whoever this man was, he was respected… or feared, same difference. “He’s expecting me, and he doesn’t like to be kept waiting, you know…”

The young man stammered something before turning back to his partner. “Hey, this girl says she’s Meyer’s daughter.” Ceara smiled when the guard shoved the package into the delivery boy’s hands, obviously telling him to get lost before heading over to her. Hopefully he took that advice soon, because she didn’t want to be stuck here much longer.

Kier wasn't stupid per say. Clearly he just assumed the wrong building was the one his father owned. An honest mistake considering it had been over ten years since he was even home, let alone told the location of where his parents spent their days. Not that he talked about them very much when he was still at the old house.

Reminiscing aside, it seemed like his distraction came just in time. It looked like she knew who ran this place because the guards ran over to fuss over her, thrusting the parcel back into his arms. Kier didn't need to be told twice to leave, ducking off to the side of the building while the security profusely apologized for their rudeness.

In those few moments that he had glimpsed at her face, Kier didn't miss the color of the woman's eyes. Purple definitely pointed to Harbinger, and something about that along with her face seemed vaguely familiar to him. He causally leaned against the side of the building, his figure masked by the trees all around him. Whoever decided to build a mini forest surrounding the perimeter was making it really convenient for illegal transactions to take place.

Wouldn't it be interesting if that woman was the person this package was meant for. Fucking hell, the next time he took a delivery, a rendezvous point would be some nice information to have. He supposed he would wait out a bit. If that woman wanted the package she'd come to seek him out sooner or later.

She followed the Oblivion member with her eyes for a brief second before the doors swung shut again, obscuring her view of him.

"I wasn't aware Meyer had a daughter." ... Ah, shit. She turned her focus back to the older guard who had spoken. "...and a Harbinger, too."

There was, of course, the customary flash of fear she was so used to seeing, but it was brief, a bright burst of color before it faded away into the normal suspicion. That was good, at least she wouldn't be thrown out for what she was. Though she really did need to lose these two and return to tailing the man, before he got too far. "You know what, actually, it's not a surprise that you don't know about me. Daddy never really liked me much, figures its because he's ashamed of me." Sometimes it was nice to be a Harbinger, gave a decent coverup. "He asks me to come here, I come here, get treated like shit," she wanted to chuckle at the fear plainly on their faces, thinking they were going to lose their jobs, "so tell him he can go fuck himself." That really didn't make much sense, but whatever, it worked.

She turned on her heel and stomped to the door, throwing it open, and enjoying the little brat act she was putting on. She assumed the guards were too stunned to follow her after that, but she still glanced over her shoulder to see if they were as she turned around the corner of the building, assuming the man with the package went around the back to find another entrance. Her attention was so focused on making sure no one was behind her, she didn't notice the man she was looking for right in front of her before she crashed into him.

Kier let out an oomph when the girl bumped into him. She wasn't particularly heavy with her stature so her face smashing into his chest didn't hurt at all. He grabbed her shoulder with his free hand to steady her. "You okay kid?" He blinked then smirked. "You're that hot shot's daughter. Did they kick you out too?" With the way they were fussing over her that was hard to believe. And we all knew Kier didn't hear her little tantrum with the guards.

He let his teasing smile harden a bit as his voice turned serious."Jokes aside, are you really Meyer's kid?" Better safe then sorry, he wasn't that big of an idiot. If she was, maybe she could help him get to whoever he needed. If not, well, he would still thank her for that lovely distraction.

Meanwhile his cell phone vibrated upon receiving a text message. Checking the text, which was from an unknown number, Kier saw a simple message followed by a name.

Behind the building at 10:25 PM. Don't screw this up.

Jason Meyer.

His eyes widened at the message. Where the hell did this person get his number? He guessed he shouldn't be surprised. The time at the top of his phone read 9:59 PM. He still had time to kill, but at least he knew when, where, and who he was meeting now.

He glanced back at the blonde, putting his phone away. "Looks like I'm staying put for a while."

Her eyebrow twitched when he called her a kid, but besides that, her facial expression remained as a sheepish smile. “Sorry about crashing into you. And no, they were just being idiots so I left.” Not wanting to seem threatening but still uncomfortable, she gently lifted a hand to push his hand off her shoulder. Being touched was never really one of Ceara’s favorite things, and while he might not know who she was, she certainly knew what he was. Having an opposing member restrain her in any way was just not a good idea.

"Jokes aside, are you really Meyer's kid?"

Her smile slipped off her face as she froze, unsure of how to answer. Luckily for her though, the man seemed to be too occupied with a text to have noticed her small slip up. Ceara watched his face as he read the text, the lines of it drawing some hazy memory from her, but she couldn’t exactly place when she had seen him before. His look of surprise didn’t escape her though, so that meant whoever had sent him that text wasn’t someone expected. "Looks like I'm staying put for a while."

And that probably meant that whoever that was was the client. She shrugged in response. “I guess. And no, I’m not really his kid,” she said, referring to his previous question. Ceara doubted that he would believe her anyway if she tried to keep up the same act. “I just thought you needed some help. My employer wouldn’t exactly be happy that you tried to just walk up to his floor with a highly sensitive package.” Generic titles so she would look like she knew more than she actually did. Hopefully the guy would slip up and reveal who exactly he was delivering the parcel to.

He nodded at her apology, letting his hand slide off. He wasn't really restraining her since, yeah he had no idea who she was. But if need be, he had the strength and height to pin her down and knock her out. Or pin her down and do...other things. The girl wasn't bad looking--a pretty blonde girl with eyes a nice shade of purple. And a girl that most likely would have caught Kier's eye on a normal day. Oh wait, he wasn't supposed to be imagining about pinning and making out with other girls. Shade wouldn't be too happy about either.

He didn't catch her slip but it wouldn't have mattered since she fessed up anyway. So she wasn't Meyer's kid after all. She put on a good show, he'd give her that.

"I wouldn't think so. But its fine, that person will get whatever shit's in this box And I don't need your help," he said, not thinking twice about rejecting her offer. He wouldn't be surprised if Meyer sent a helper because he didn't trust a low ranking gang member to be able to do a delivery job right. The fact that he sent a little girl though, that was kind of weird. "Just run along, kid. I got this."

Kier was making a shooing motion with his hand when foot steps started to click over. Had he been speaking too loud? He thought he had his voice pretty controlled. Reflexively, he grabbed the girl and pulled her behind one of the trees, keeping his ear open for approaching footsteps.

"I thought I heard something. No, i wasn't my imagin-- okay, maybe. Better not be that delivery guy again." The owner of the voice (which sounded like the security guard from earlier) didn't come any closer, and instead turned and walked back to his post, saying some meaningless things to the other guard.

Turning back around, he realized that the girl was wrapped in his arms. He blinked, then smirked, not letting go. "Y'know, you're really small," he commented. That was probably the reason he grabbed and hid with her earlier. It's like those times when you just snatch the nearest thing and pull it with you.

Well, that didn’t work. Not that she expected him to reveal who the employer was so easily, anyway. “Just run along, kid. I got this.” A hand was flapped in her face, clearly a dismissal, and Ceara debated briefly if she should bite it just for his arrogance. And for calling her a kid again. Though she didn’t really have the time, when the sound of shoes hitting pavement came from around the corner. The girl turned to face the source, perfectly fine with a confrontation, but apparently her ‘companion’ had a different idea.

She yipped in surprise when she was suddenly grabbed by the waist, lifted like she weighed nothing, and dragged behind a tree. What the fuh- Ceara was about to twist out of his grip and give him a piece of her mind but silenced herself when she heard the voices, remaining quiet until they faded away.

“Y’know, you’re really small.”

Alright, that's it. She wriggled an arm out just enough to get sufficient freedom to drive her fist into his stomach, hard enough that he released her. “Goddamn it!” Her voice was an irritated whisper, tentatively controlled so she wouldn’t alarm the security again. “You don’t think I know that? And stop calling me kid, I’m fucking nineteen, asshole. Just because I’m not stupidly tall like you doesn’t mean I’m a child!” She crossed her arms over her chest, glaring up at the man.

Hit a nerve, did he? Kier recoiled from the jab in the stomach, dropping his hold on her to grab his stomach with his free hand. Damn girl could hit hard. And if she wasn't talking in a heated whisper, he might not have heard her. The smirk didn't leave his face as he recovered, pretty quickly, from the strike.

"Chill, I wasn't trying to offend you." Her height wasn't the reason he'd called her a kid. Her face just kind of looked it, and so did her attitude right now. Though he couldn't say he was very mature himself. Akuji had pointed that out a few times as well. "Nineteen, huh? So you're a legal adult." He ran a tongue over his lips, leaning in to her face. "You wouldn't be interested in a little fun would you?" Not the mission, obviously. Kier meant other fun. The kind of fun that he did for a living. She looked like she wouldn't mind going hard either.

…Seriously? He was going to hit on her now? They were hiding from security guards so he wasn’t caught with illegal items, she didn’t think she gave him any sort of hint that she was interested, and yet he was hitting on her. Okay. Ceara moved a hand up and planted it on his face, pushing him up and away from her. “Yeah, nope. Not in the slightest. Good try though, A for effort.”

Letting her hand fall, she rolled her eyes and groaned, dropping her head back against the tree. How much longer would this take until she could find out who the hell the damn package was going to? She couldn’t just take it, nor could she ask more questions without having the horny bastard get suspicious. “Do you have the time? He really should be here soon.” Ceara sighed, letting her head drop back down, looking at the man in the eyes again. There really was something familiar about his face… Oh shit. The man from the bounty. “You… Nevermind.” Hopefully he didn’t recognize her, or else her entire act of being his client’s employee went down the drain.
